The system is unable to find my parking ticket. How is this possible?

Your parking ticket will show up on the website 8 hours after it is issued. If you check the website before that, your parking ticket will not yet be online. We recommend opening the website again at a later time.

I am being asked for an assessment number. Where can I find this?

The assessment number is found at the top of the parking ticket. This is a 12-digit or 14-digit number. The first six digits of this code indicate the date, the next four digits indicate the time at which the parking ticket was issued.

The parking ticket says additional levy. What does this mean?

Additional levy is the legal term for a parking fine. You did not pay (enough) parking fees (parking tax). We charge this tax by means of an additional levy (parking ticket). We require you to pay the amount due including administration costs.

I have submitted an appeal. Do I still need to pay the parking ticket?

Yes, you first need to pay the parking ticket and CANNOT wait until it is determined whether your appeal is well-founded or unfounded. If your appeal is declared well-founded, we will refund the amount to your account as soon as possible.

I do not agree with the amount of the parking ticket. Can I submit an appeal against this?

The amount of the parking ticket consists of the parking fee payable for at least one hour, plus administrative costs. These amounts have been determined in the municipal law. Submitting an appeal against the amount of the parking ticket is pointless.

I have received a parking ticket. However, I never visited this location. Can I submit an appeal?

You can always submit an appeal against a parking ticket. However, you need to provide proof that you were not present at the relevant location with your car at the moment the parking ticket was issued. Our parking inspectors check your data based on the data known about your car at the RDW. If it is plausible that this data matches and is accurate, it is pointless to submit an appeal.

No, there is no point in submitting an appeal. Appeals that indicate that the pay and display machine was defective are not granted. The law assumes that in that case, you walk to a different machine to pay the parking fee. In addition, there is a malfunction number on the machine which you can use to report the malfunction.

I have received a parking ticket while I was loading and unloading. Is there any point in submitting an appeal?

It must be concretely visible to the parking inspector or scan vehicle that you are loading and unloading. If this is not the case, then you are likely not loading or unloading. In that case, submitting an appeal is pointless.

There is digital enforcement with a scan vehicle. How does this work?

If you park in a paid parking zone, you enter the license plate number at the machine or via a parking app. The machine or app sends the license plate number to the National Parking Register (NPR). This national register stores the license plate number with encryption. The scan vehicle drives around, scans the license plate numbers of parked cars and also sends them to the register. If it appears that parking fees have been paid, the scan is removed within 24 hours. If no or insufficient parking fees were paid, an additional check takes place. Only after this second check will a parking ticket be send by mail. This data is deleted after 13 weeks.
